Bitumen types V1500, V3000, V6000 and V12000 are soft binders used for road surfaces on low-traffic roads, mainly in countries with very harsh winters (e.g. Scandinavian countries). Soft asphalts are often used in technologies using recycled material: both for substructures (of gravel and bitumen mixes) and for the production of mineral-bitumen mixtures using foamed bitumen. Soft bitumen V3000, V6000 and V12000 can also be used for the construction and surfacing of dirt roads with very low traffic loads using very soft mineral and bitumen concrete mixtures.
